Abraham Cárdenes MuseumTejeda is thus the cradle of important artists such as Abraham Cárdenes, who was born in the municipality and whose works have repercussions far beyond our borders, he was a prestigious sculptor in his time, with sculptures full of strength that transmit especially the deep roots in his condition as a canary and tejedense.
The Museum fulfills a dual function:
- On the one hand, it has a fixed exhibition of the sculptor’s work.
- It has a traveling exhibition room in which the exhibitions of the plastic arts circuit of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, among others, are collected.
Recently we have been able to enjoy exhibitions such as those of; «Ideograms» by Armando Gil, «Canary Cartoonists» by Néstor Dámaso del Pino, «The power of the Himba woman» by Cadiz-born photographer Jorge Vilar, «Mammals, The Teat of the Goddess» by Elizabeth Amador between others.
Throughout the month of March 2021, the posters of the WE ARE WOMEN, WE ARE EQUAL campaign were displayed. In which hundreds of women from the municipality participated to visualize the figure of women on the occasion of the fight for Equality, which as we all know has its greatest activism on 8M.
Recently, the painting exhibition THE LOOKS by the artist Araceli Paz Castañeda Camarero, an interesting collection of paintings with a very particular «look», full of color and strength.
